I don’t mean literally off the ground, unfortunately. It will be several years before I begin pilot training (if the Lord wills). But we do have several supporters who signed up for monthly commitments! This is huge to us and we are so humbled and grateful to those who made the commitment official.

We now have $350 a month in pledged support. This is, admittedly, still pretty far from our goal of $5,260 and at times I just sigh and shake my head because I’m not sure how to do this. It’s a mountain, that’s for sure. Strangely enough, the sermon at church this morning was about not trying to get things done on our own steam. Of course, God also expects us to try out best, use our brains, and show some initiative. How do you balance completely relying on God while giving it all you got? I don’t know. I guess that’s where wisdom comes in. Also, the cliche: “Do your best and let God do the rest.”

Other than that, not much has happened since the last blog.

I was trying to come up with creative ways to write about buying toilet paper, paying electric bills, or shoveling snow off of the sidewalk, but I came up short.

The van did start making terrible noises and I bought some parts to fix it. Maybe I’ll have some material to write about once I fix the van. Maybe I’ll try to fix it with just toothpicks and gum so I have something impressive to blog about.

I can’t wait to actually get to the mission field so I have interesting things to write home about. Maybe I’ll regret wishing that. I don’t know.
